ADENWORKS TEAK FURNISHINGS, TAKING FURNITURE TO THE NEXT LEVEL
Dallas company creates custom stain specifially for teak furnishings
DALLAS – AdenWorks most exciting change is our new custom finish. Since many of you have not had the chance to visit our warehouse in person, I thought I would walk you through our preparation process with some pictures straight from AdenWorks’ Dallas-based warehouse. The photographs on our blog under "Teak Furnishings, Taking Furniture To The Next Level" feature one of our popular 75" Lazy Susan Tables.
The AdenWorks’ team is obsessed with quality. Our quest for quality begins with our designer’s sketchbook and from there we closely monitor our manufacturing.
PREP WORK
Every single piece of furniture that enters our warehouse is thoroughly inspected. After the pieces are examined, AdenWorks’ craftsmen make adjustments as needed ensuring the high test level of quality. Each piece will then be examined again before heading off to be sanded.
SANDING
The sanding process, although tedious, is what elevates AdenWorks’ teak furnishings. Strategic areas of the furniture are sanded such as table tops, arm rests and seats. Our goal is to make our furniture functional and comfortable while not depleting the handcrafted and reclaimed beauty of our furniture.
HAND STAINING
Once the sanding is complete, our craftsmen begin the hand-staining process with an oil-based stain to enhance the natural beauty, grain and colors of the teak wood. The furniture is then set aside to cure. Lastly, a final coat of protectant is applied.
FINISHED PRODUCT
As you can see, each piece of furniture you order is given a great amount of attention and care before it arrives at your doorstep. If you haven’t experienced our new custom finish, find out today why customers just like you are so excited about our brand new look.

ADENWORKS LEADS ECO-FRIENDLY RUSTIC FURNITURE INDUSTRY
Dallas company going green, using recycled materials for furniture
DALLAS – Who would have ever thought that old, broken, used farming tools could be transformed into stunning pieces of rustic furniture? Well, over nine years ago, AdenWorks’ President and CEO Richard Dobrey realized the potential in transforming old farming tools such as ox yokes, plows, wagon wheels, feeding troughs, ox carts, fence posts and dilapidated barns into one-of-a-kind home furnishings.
“At AdenWorks, we believe that using recycled teakwood can not only be environmentally friendly, it can also create stunning furniture with a unique look,” Dobrey said. “We have been utilizing recycled farming tools and wagon wheels for years. These recycled pieces enable AdenWorks furniture to tell stories from the past while also being green.”
Dallas-based AdenWorks has been providing sustainable home furnishings for over nine years to retailers and designers throughout the US. Focused on protecting and preserving the earth, AdenWorks designs and manufactures furniture from an eco-friendly standpoint. The handcrafted rustic furniture is thoughtfully designed through the combination of recycled antique farm implements. AdenWorks constructs furniture from pieces of history that will continue to remain highly durable for generations to come.
The process begins with AdenWorks in-house designer Aynsley Kindig, visionary and founder of the Aynsley Elizabeth Collection. Aynsley enters into the drawing room with sustainability in mind. After deciding what she will create, Aynsley pieces together various recycled materials to create stunning pieces of rustic furniture. One of the artists’ recent designs consists of worn stacked fence posts creating a rugged and organic head and footboard ideal for those who greatly appreciate the qualities and characteristics of teakwood in its most natural form.
Sometimes Aynsley will spend hours at a time in the studio studying everything from plow handles to discarded fence posts in order to create innovative designs. The recycled farming tools provide endless possibilities to bring her visions to life.
“As an artist, it is exciting for me to watch my ideas move from concept to reality,” Aynsley said. “I am inspired by the recycled wood that we use, and it is exciting to know that AdenWorks is providing quality furniture as well as being a green leader in the furniture business.”
Once the designs are completed the drafts are sent to AdenWorks manufactures in Thailand for construction. Antique farming tools have been gathered and stored for the eco-friendly furniture production. AdenWorks uses all of the resources available to compose furniture that is environmentally friendly. None of the old farming implements go to waste during the construction. AdenWorks has found ways to craft furniture from all of the sources available. For example, one of AdenWorks most popular side tables is made from an old genuine feeding trough. The trough has been turned upside down displaying its worn backside. Recycled teak has been used to create the legs of this piece so that it can act as a small end table, bench, or foot stool in homes across America. It is pieces like this that prove AdenWorks ingenuity and attentiveness to the various recycled elements available today.
AdenWorks looks forward to continuing its mission of being sustainable and environmentally conscious. They seek to bring more awareness to the dire importance of sustainable lifestyles not only with regards to home furnishings but to the way people operate in their daily lives. AdenWorks believes this world can become a safer, stronger and greener place to live.

ADENWORKS CEO GIVES BACK TO NEEDY THAI COMMUNITY AdenWorks not just building furniture, building futures
DALLAS – Richard J. Dobrey, founder and president of rustic teak manufacturer, AdenWorks Ltd., recently returned to Dallas after a home-building trip in Thailand. Because AdenWorks’ furniture is constructed of recycled teakwood, most of Dobrey’s business trips to the country are for buying and management purposes. However, his February trip revolved around giving back to the Thai community that has played such an integral part in AdenWorks’ nine years of successful growth.
Dobrey joined with Habitat for Humanity Thailand to help construct safe housing and offer a better quality of life to a lower class family in need of a place to call home. For five intense days of work, a diverse team consisting of eleven people from four different countries joined together to build a safe home and new future for a Thai family.
“It isn’t every day that I am able to directly work in the Thai communities where we purchase eco-friendly teakwood used for AdenWorks,” Dobrey said. “This past trip was about more than business, it was a chance for me to build a home for a deserving family, and I am grateful to Habitat for Humanity for giving me this rich opportunity.”
AdenWorks’ recycled teakwood furniture is manufactured in Thailand from recycled farm implements such as ox carts, ox bows, plows, wagon wheels, hubs, fence posts, dilapidated teak barns, and feeding troughs just to name a few. Each piece of furniture is handmade by true artists in the Thai community. These artisans are able to recreate AdenWorks’ visions through the use of antique implements of past farming days. The end result allows for retailers and designers to offer their customers pieces of history creatively transformed into rustic furniture.
Dobrey and the team of eleven “joined in the fight against poverty housing and homelessness.” As they hauled sand, mixed and hauled cement, set cement blocks, dug holes for septic tanks and constructed the house, they were joined by the ecstatic future homeowners who eagerly helped every step of the way. When the Thai family was presented with their new home their eyes filled with tears of appreciation.
During this difficult economic time, Dobrey said it was refreshing to have the opportunity to give back to a community that has been instrumental in AdenWorks ability to provide unique handcrafted teak furnishings for designers and retailers in the US.
With the home’s completion, another family was able to be taken off the streets of Thailand. Dobrey’s experience prompted him to return to the AdenWorks’ office with a new mission: to donate 10 percent of AdenWorks’ profits to the construction of homes in Thailand.
