THE WOOD
Most people have heard of teakwood but many do not understand why it is considered one of the best woods in the world. One convincing argument is whether a wood can hold up in water, especially salt water. Years ago boats were constructed using teakwood. If you were to visit Bangkok, you would see some of these boats that have been in use for well over 50 years. Why do they last? They are constructed using the best teakwood available in the world, Burmese Teak (Tectona Grandis).
So what about our furniture? First, it is made using Burmese Teak unlike most teak furniture today that is made of a far lesser quality of plantation teak. Our Burmese teak is much higher in natural oil which resists rot better, is far denser which prevents parasites, and its appearance is richer due to superior grain patterns. In fact, it can remain outdoors for seventy five years without treatment. Think how long it can last with only minor care. Second, most of the wood used to construct our furniture is recycled. Its initial use was for making rice carts, farm houses, posts, plows, and many other farm implements. In fact, some of the Burmese teakwood has already been exposed to the elements for over half a century. Needless to say, if it has endured harsh farm life, not to mention the ravages of nature, it will certainly hold up in a home or commercial setting.
CONSTRUCTION
Each piece of furniture is handmade using the finest material and construction techniques allowing it to be used in home or commercial applications. Although each piece is constructed using primarily recycled teak timbers, the design is consistent. Each piece is unique yet uniform so you can be confident that the acutal piece you receive will match the photo or piece you saw in our showroom.
OUR FINISHES
AdenWorks has spent years testing and developing the perfect stain for teak wood. We offer our custom finish exclusively designed for our teak fine furnishings. Our finish is a rich brown which highlights teak grain and the various natural colors within teak. Please contact AdenWorks for more information.
THE AYNSLEY ELIZABETH COLLECTION
AdenWorks consistently searches for ways to better serve your needs. In 2008, AdenWorks happily introduced the Aynsley Elizabeth Collection which was formally debuted during the January Dallas and Las Vegas Markets. AdenWorks is the first in the industry to bring a softer side to rustic teak furniture by upholstering our handcrafted furniture with leather, cowhide, and nail head trim. The Aynsley Elizabeth Collection was inspired and created by AdenWorks’ in house designer.
Leather contains naturally occurring markings such as healed scars, fat wrinkles, stretch marks, and insect bites. These are not defects, but part of the natural beauty. Also expect color and marking variations from hide to hide on both leather and hair on hide products due to the natrual and aniline state of the product. Some fading may occur if the leather is exposed to direct, intense light and heat.
THE SHEEP GATE COLLECTION
AdenWorks proudly introduces the Sheep Gate collection which elevates furniture design to a new level of creativity, imagination and quality. Sheep Gate was developed for those who desire unique furnishings that will add character and flair to both residential and commercial applications.
Sheep Gate is distinguished by its artistic application of speciality Mouton and Tibetan lamb furs, soft shearling, beaded jewelry and trim, and select nailheads providing endless options for the discerning buyer. Sheep Gate is fully customizable to meet your needs.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Our furniture is treated with two layers of waterproof stain. Furniture that remains indoors or under a covered porch requires little treatment under normal circumstances. Pieces exposed to the elements, without periodic care, will turn a silver gray. The determinant as to how fast the furniture will turn silver gray is dependent on the furniture’s level of exposure to sun and moisture. Minor fillers which were applied during construction will eventually crack during normal use. AdenWorks strongly suggests that tables not be maintained out in the elements for long periods of time. Rather they should be kept under a protective covering such as a porch. In the event that tables are left out in full exposure to the elements for long periods of time the furniture will turn a silver gray and may possibly experience cracking and/or warping. AdenWorks will not be responsible for damage resulting from exposure to the elements.
In order to preserve the furniture, apply an oil based sealant suitable for outdoor hardwood furniture. We recommend that two or three coats of sealant be applied prior to placing the furniture outdoors. If you decide to apply a sealant at a later time, you will be required to sand the furniture, thoroughly clean and dry it prior to applying the coats of sealant. Any sealant selected will provide instructions on its application.
